Wed., December 15 at 12 noon • Killian Hall (14W-111) READING: Angela Ambroz Angela Ambroz will be reading excerpts from her science fiction series, the Dropverse. Her work has been featured in magazines such as Strange Horizons, Reflection’s Edge, Expanded Horizons and GigaNotoSaurus. Her story, Greetings from Kampala, was once described as ‘a crazy science fiction ride which is both unsettling, irritating, fascinating, and one of the best character-driven stories I’ve read in a long while.’ (The Fix, 2009) |

Wed., February 23 at 12 noon • Killian Hall (14W-111) CONCERT: Patrick Battstone Through an Open Door Pianist Patrick Battstone will be joined with percussionist Richard Poole on vibes, creating a musical odyssey that they term “spontaneous musical conversations”. This music is free in form and follows only the instincts and intuitions of both performers. Ethereal in nature, it is both pacifying as well as frightening, minimal as well as profound. Their latest recording, “Through an Open Door”, will be available between sets and after the performance. |
